The very first trailer for The Mandalorian has arrived

Prepare to return to a galaxy far far away once more, this time through the Disney+ streaming platform rather than a theater near you. Disney+ has debuted the first trailer for the brand new first ever live-acction Star Wars series, The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian takes place five years after the end of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, set in the Outer Rim worlds of the Star Wars galaxy. This places it in the mostly unexplored era following the destruction of the second Death Star, the death of Emperor Palpetine and the fall of the Empire before it rose again as the First Order one day.

Guided by showrunner Jon Favreau with the likes of Star Wars animation guru Dave Filoni, Taika Waitit, and more directing, The Mandalorian also stars Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow, Omid Abthahi, Nick Nolte, Werner Herzog and Giancarlo Esposito. The series will be availble on Novermber 12, which is the day the platform launches.

The Mandalorian fully debuts in first Disney+ poster

With only a couple months left till Disney bursts into the middle of the streaming war with their upcoming Disney+ platform, the studio is beginning to shine even more of a spotlight on the original content that they’ll be providing on the service. A trailer is reportedly on the way, but in the meantime the first poster for their Star Wars series The Mandalorian has debuted.

Shared through Twitter, the poster featured the title Mandalorian played by Pedro Pascal striding through a barren area with his ship the Razor Crest and setting twin suns behind him.

The Mandalorian takes place five years after the end of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi which means it will be giving some of the first looks in the new canon at what happened in that pivitol time after the destruction of the second Death Star, death of Emperor Palpetine and the fall of the Empire before it rose again as the First Order one day.

It’s unlikely that many characters known from the film worlds will play a part, since this series takes place far out in the lawless Outer Rim worlds of the Star Wars galaxy.
