The WB’s Birds of Prey star Ashley Scott brings Huntress to the Crisis on Infinite Earths event

When it comes to their Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, The CW seems to be pulling out all the stops in regards to actors from previous DC related works that they are bringing into the fold to either reprise their roles or play a new role.

While Tom Welling and Erica Durance from Smallville or the already in the Arroverse John Wesley Shipp or even Burt Ward from the 60s Batman seemed like either givens or likely candidates for coming back, the latest recruit is one that many might not have expected or remembered in some cases.

According to TVLine, Ashley Scott is set to reprise her role of Helena Kyle/Huntress from the short-lived 2002 WB series Birds of Prey during the event. Long before Arrow kicked off the Arrowverse in 2012 and shortly after Smallville began it’s journey, The WB tried an all female led superhero series with Birds of Prey. Scott starred as Huntress while Dina Meyer played Barbara Gordon who was the former Batgirl turned Oracle and Rachel Skarsten played the young Dinah Redmond/Lance also known as the heroic Black Canary.

Funny enough, Skarsten will already have joined the Arrowverse before Scott because the former Black Canary is playing the antagonist Alice for the fall premiering Batwoman series. Whether Alice will appear during Batwoman’s portion of the crossover is unclear, so the actresses crossing paths again is quite possible.

A version of Huntress has appeared on Arrow in the past, played by Jessica De Gouw and a version is hitting the big screen next year in Birds of Prey played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead in February.

Crises on Infinite Earth’s stretches across Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow with three of the five episodes ariing in mid-December and the last two held off till shows return in mid-January.
