Wolverine goes solo once more in 2020 with a new Dawn of X series

The world is looking to exploit resources of the mutants' homeland of Krakoa, and Logan is ready to stand in defense of their new home

As creators from Marvel Comics descended upon New York Comic Con to hype up the upcoming Dawn of X books and the upcoming end of the House Of X/Powers of X storyline, they made sure to bring one big announcement to cap off an hour of X-Men talk.

The panel finished with the announcement that a new Wolverine series will launch in February as part of the Dawn of X lineup from teh creative team of Ben Percy, Adam Kubert and Victor Bogdonavic.

Little was shared about the series other than it will follow ” Wolverine as he takes it upon himself to defend the new nation of Krakoa from the humans who would exploit its extraordinary resources.”

“We all have that character. The one we love more than any other. The one we treasure in books and movies and maybe memorialize with a T-shirt or tattoo. The one we relate to as a cracked-mirror version of ourselves. For me — as a growly, grumpy, hairy, smelly, muscled, flannel-clad, whiskey-swilling loner who lives in the woods of the frozen north — it’s Logan. And though this might sound corny, it also feels right to say that writing Wolverine is a dream come true, a childhood fantasy realized. No kidding, bub.”

Kubert has drawn Logan numerous times in the past and Percy has been writing not only the Sticher Wolverine drama podcasts but also the comic book adaptation of the first of those podcast adventures. He’ll also be writing Logan within the pages of X-Force which launches this month.
