Years upon years of rumors can at last be put to rest. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ewan McGregor are officially returning to a galaxy far far away.
Announced during Disney’s D-23 confernece, Kathleen Kennedy officially made the announcement that McGregor is returning to the Jedi Master role he played in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, in a brand new not currently named Disney+ series to focus on Kenobi.
Little is known about the series, but it’s no doubt set to take place during the 20ish years that Kenobi was in exile on the planet of Tattooine watching over the growing Luke Skywalker from afar. Many have speculated the types of adventures a former Jedi could have gotten up to in those years, since it seems likey he wasn’t just sitting in his hut waiting.
The Kenboi series joins The Mandalorian as the first live-action TV shows in the Star Wars universe with a Rogue One prequel starring Diego Luna reprising his role of Cassian Andor on the way at some point.
