Carol Danvers is ready to take the Marvel Cinematic Universe by storm in just over a month’s time, and Marvel Studios kept the hype strong as she sailed into a brand new TV spot during the Super Bowl. Filled with shots of Captain Marvel in action both as her Kree/superhero persona and as Carol Danvers, the new teaser is likely to just add to the excitement already palpable for the film.
Set in the 1990’s, Captain Marvel will be the first fully female character led film from Marvel Studios (Ant-Man and the Wasp being the first to give a female character top billing alongside a male character) and will show the origins of the cosmic powered hero before she bursts onto the scene in present day for Avengers 4 next May.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Larson, Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace the return of Djimon Hounsou & Lee Pace as Korath the Pursuer & Ronan the Accuser as well as Samuel L. Jackson & Clark Gregg playing de-aged versions of Nick Fury and Agent Phil Coulson respectively. The film opens on March 8, 2019.
