Before diving into their latest entry in the annual crossover event tradition, the heroes of the Arrowverse are diving back into their comic book roots. Comic book artist & writer Amy Reeder has created a brand new teaser poster for The CW’s Elseworlds crossover featuring comic book art versions of the CW DC superheroes.

Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), Batwoman (Ruby Rose) and a life & superhero identity switched Green Arrow & Flash (Grant Gustin & Stephen Amell switching roles) appear on the poster with the villainous Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) looms overhead while the diabolical Arkham Asylum physician Doctor John Deegan (Jeremy Davies) cackles below them on what is likely a Gotham City rooftop.

By all appearances, actual details are being kept mum for the moment, some multiversal shenanigans will go down on the latest event as Arrow and Flash switch entire lives but also a dark-suited Superman and a John Wesley Shipp returning to wearing the 1990s Flash TV series suit also are set to appear. The heroes are headed to Gotham City where they will meet Rose’s Batwoman along with the debut of Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane alongside the long-awaited return of Hoechlin’s Superman and the debut of Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries the wife of Doctor Victor Fries, otherwise known as Mister Freeze.

There is a flipping of the schedule for the event as it begins with The Flash on Sunday, December 09 before moving onto Arrow on Monday, December 10 then wrap up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
