Silver locks are flowing as Henry Cavill makes the leap from the world of comic book adaptations to book/video game adaptations. Netflix has released the very first look at the Man of Steel and Mission: Impossible – Fallout star in costume as Geralt of Rivia the protagonist of the fantasy book & game series The Witcher, which is being turned into a show on the streaming platform.
Created by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is a series of fantasy short stories and novels that follow Geralt of Rivia who is a witcher, monster hunters who gain supernatural abilities at a young age and are trained to hunt down beasts. The popular stories led to the development of the Witcher video game series from CD Projekt.
Netflix’s series stars Cavill, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Jodhi May as Calanthe, Adam Levy as Mousesack, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina, Millie Brady as Renfri, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Maciej Musial as Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalthe as Dara, Anna Shaffer as Triss and Lars Mikkelsen as Stregobor. The series is set to arrive someone in 2019.
