Batwoman is ready to save the day in the first look image of Ruby Rose in costume for The CW’s Elseworld’s crossover

Ruby Rose is ready to protect Gotham City as Batwoman in the first image from the just entering production crossover

After announcing the casting earlier this year, The CW has unveiled the very first look at Ruby Rose in costume as the heroic Batwoman. The bat inspired hero and her home city of Gotham are making their debut later this year as part of the annual The CW superhero show crossover.

As shared by Entertainment Tonight, Rose is wearing the comic book accurate black-and-red Batwoman costume designed by Oscar winner Colleen Atwood. The red locks of Kate Kane are also on display in the first look image, as Rose fully embodies the character while standing upon a roof in Gotham City with the bat signal lighting up the sky and Wayne Tower in the distance.

This year’s crossover, known as Elseworlds, will go through Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl and just began production. In it, the heroes will end up in Gotham City where they will meet Rose’s Kate Kane/Batwoman, see the return of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, the debuts of Elizabeth Tulloch and Cassandra Jean Amell as Lois Lane and Nora Fries (wife of villain Mr. Freeze) respectively, and potentially some other Batman related antagonists as Arkham Asylum will reportedly be featured.

Following the crossover, Rose will have the chance to play the character more as The CW is currently developing a full Batwoman series that would debut likely in the 2019-2020 season.

Elseworlds will air in December beginning on December 09 with The Flash, December 10 with Arrow, and December 11 with Supergirl (Flash and Supergirl changing nights for the crossover week).
