Artist & writer Sean Gordon Murphey took the dark knight and the clown prince of crime, along with their various allies, on quite a ride with Batman: White Knight earlier this year. The series, retroactively incorporated into DC Comic’s adult-oriented Black Label imprint, saw a rehabilitated and turned sane Joker (now known as  Jack Napier) working to prove to Gotham that Batman and his vigilante ways are the true danger to the city.

The story is far from over, as DC has now announced that Murphey will follow up that run with a sequel series known as Batman: Curse of the White Knight in 2019 as part of the DC Black Label, and Murphy will draw and write the story just like the original series.

In Batman: Curse of the White Knight the Joker recruits a savage partner to help him expose a shocking revelation about the Wayne family’s legacy and run Gotham into the ground. As Batman rushes to protect the city and his loved ones from this corrupt conspiracy, the mystery of his ancestry unravels and deals a devastating blow to The Dark Knight. Exciting new villains and unexpected allies will clash across history in this unforgettable chapter of The White Knight saga, and the truth about the blood they shed will shake Gotham to its very core!

Set in an alternate world compared to the regular DC Comics world, the original White Knight story saw altered but very similar versions of Batman related characters and the sequel will continue that as Murphy will introduce his own version of 90s fan-favorite character Azrael.

This news arrives just in time for the release of the collected form of Batman: White Knight which arrives next month.
