A Jordan Peele produced revival of The Twilight Zone already peaked the interest of many (especially following the great film Get Out), but the writer/director/producer/comedian has fully caught the attention of many now. That’s because not only will he produce the CBS All Access series but he’ll host it.
Shared on his Twitter, Peele announced that he’ll be doing the overall narration and hosting of the series just like Rod Serling did in the original series. In the video, there are snippets of Serling’s iconic original title narration intercut with versions of Peele doing it himself.
Just like Serling not only will Peele voice the title but he’ll be the observer that stands apart from each of the stories told in the episodes, interacting with the audience and imparting us with the knowledge that helps frame the story we will be watching.
“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours,” said Peele, in a statement according to Deadline. “I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone.”
The new The Twilight Zone is reportedly going into production sometime this fall for a 2019 premiere.
