In a world besieged by fear and hatred, one symbol will stand for hope and a brighter world. Kara Danvers/Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), the heroic Supergirl, stands poised to protect humanity from various threats including itself in a new poster for season four of The CW’s Supergirl.

Shared on Twitter, the poster comes with the caption “A force against fear,” alluding to the threat of Agent Liberty (Sam Witwer) and others in season four who seek to sow fear, mistrust and hatred against any and all aliens on the planet following some attacks in the past from evil/villainous aliens.

Subtly is not the name of the game for season four of the series as the writers are heavily pulling from current events in our own world for the new season, pitting their heroes against something that isn’t as easy to defeat with a punch like an evil Kryptonian or other similar past bad guys.

Supergirl returns on October 14, moving this season to anchor The CW’s renewed Sunday programming.
