The long wait is almost over, the Jodie Whittaker era of Doctor Who is about to begin. Following various teasers and first images and a first look at the regeneration all the way back in last year’s Christmas Special, the eleventh series of the revived long-running science fiction series has a release date.
Announced on Twitter, the new series will follow the lead of a few recent show specials and premieres with a global premiere on Sunday, October 07.
With the departure last year of Peter Capaldi from the title role and Stephen Moffat from the showrunner position, the new series of Doctor Who truly is new as Whittker becomes the first woman to play the role in the show’s 55 year run and Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) is the new showrunner and reportedly has shaken up the standard format of the show somewhat for the new Doctor.
All the questions fans have about the show changes will likely be answered now in just a few short weeks, as tons more questions will likely be posed by the show per usual for the show.
Doctor Who returns October 07 with following episodes airing on Sundays going forward.
