It’s time to meet the newest cast of characters having adventures in a galaxy far far away as Lucasfilm and Disney have released a new extended look video at the upcoming series Star Wars Resistance. In the new video, the crew of the Fireball is introduced and they aren’t your typical Star Wars type of characters that tend to be part of the Rebellion or the Resistance.

The main character Kazuno Xiono is a pilot and a newer member of the Resistance who is tasked by Poe Dameron, with Oscar Issac providing the voice for the animated version of his big-screen character, to spy on the First Order as the series is set in the period before 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. To achieve that mission, Kaz becomes part of the Fireball crew who are racers/stunt pilots operation out of a massive station known as the Colossus.

Those crew members include Yaeger who is an older mechanic who was a former Rebellion pilot now just trying to live his life, his co-mechanic the tough & no nonsense Tam a racer/pilot that lost her ship, the naive but big-hearted technical genius Neeku and an older droid known as Bucket. Kaz and Poe’s droid BB-88 join the crew as they try and keep an eye on First Order presence in that sector of space.

Creator Dave Filoni, one of the people behind Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels animated series, noted that Resistance is meant to be a lighter show more geared towards kids than the sometimes heavier situations and topics handled in the last two animated series.

The voice cast includes Christopher Sean, Suzie McGrath, Scott Lawrence, Myrna Velasco, Josh Brener, Donald Faison, Bobby Moynihan, Jim Rash and Rachel Butera along with the aforementioned Issac returning as Poe Dameron and Gwendoline Christie returning to lend her voice to Captain Phasma. Star Wars Resistance debuts on October 07.
