When it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Donny Cates would be showrunning a revival of the Marvel Knights line in order to celebrate twenty years since the first Marvel Knights revitalized many popular characters, many assumed it was going to lead to several series carrying the banner this fall. Turns out that’s not the case.
As announced on Mavel.com, this November Donny Cates will be joined by writers Matthew Rosenberg, Tini Howard and Vita Ayala in launching a six-issue limited Marvel Knights series for the anniversary. Original Marvel Knights characters like Daredevil, the Punisher, Black Panther, Elektra and more will come together to investigate a mystery that affects every character in the Marvel Universe. Travel Foreman and Niko Henrichon will handle art in the first two issues with no word about the subesequent issues, but Geoff Shaw will provide regular covers with Jae Lee doing a set of variant covers.
Original Marvel Knights architect Joe Quesada has created a brand new piece of art for the anniversary that Marvel shared as well.
Alongside the miniseries, there will be digital comics promotions and variant programs featuring the work of John Cassaday, JG Jones and Terry Dodson among others as well as a set of new trade paperbacks and two new omnibus editions celebration the original line of Marvel Knights comics.
