Lucasfilm announced the cast for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX which included the returns of Carrie Fisher (through unused Force Awakens footage), Billy Dee Williams and Mark Hamill among others. There was one name that had been reportedly joining the film that was missing.
Turns out that Keri Russell, who weeks ago was reportedly in talks for the film, has now officially completed negotiations and is signed on to join the Star Wars: Episode IX cast, according to Variety.
There is still no word who Russell will play, but it does reunite her with J.J. Abrams who she worked with on Felicity and Mission: Impossible 3 previously.
Russel will join Fisher, Hamill, Williams, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Sutotamo, Billie Lourd, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant in the December 2019 releasing film that will cap off the current Star Wars trilogy.
