While Daredevil is her usual sparring partner, one of Marvel Comics longtime villains is going to plague another of their popular heroes. Typhoid Mary is back to take on New York’s heroes in the new one-shot Typhoid Fever: Spider-Man.
Daredevil is busy dealing with Mayor Wilson Fisk, so it’s up to Spider-Man, the X-Men, and Iron Fist to stop Mary from bringing ruin to Hells Kitchen, according to Marvel.com. This new one-shot is written by Clay McLeod Chapman with art by Stefano Landini with a cover from R.B. Silva.
“Typhoid Mary has one of the most dangerous powersets in the Marvel Universe – and writer Clay Mcleod Chapman (EDGE OF VENOMVERSE) is determined to use those powers in ways we’ve never seen before,” Marvel Editor Devin Lewis said. “Pyrokinesis, telekinesis, and mind control… and that’s all in the first scene! Wait’ll you see what else Clay has planned, and what artist Stefano Landini has done with the script for TYPHOID FEVER: SPIDER-MAN!”
There is no official word, but the look of the cover having Colossus arm on the one and nothing else either points to a bigger fold out cover or this series could follow the format of the current Wakanda Forever series which features three one-shots telling connected stories but each one features on a different Marvel hero/team helping the Dora Milaje. So Typhoid Fever: Iron Fist and Typhoid Fever: X-Men one-shots could be on the way.
Typhoid Fever: Spider-Man arrives on October 03.
