During the week of San Diego Comic-Con (and in the week before), various publishers and studios like to drop news or teases to the news that they’ll be debuting at the convention. Marvel has been dropping various teasers recently, but their latest is the most mysterious.
The previous few teasers left some mystery but they were clearly about a new X-Men team (X-Men: Black) and stories for the Superior Octopus/Doctor Octopus and Ghost Spider (Spider-Gwen). This new one is just a purple-hued alleyway with a bit of Police caution tape on the ground and the phrase “Blind Spot” along with the date of July 18, 2018, which seems to indicate we’ll find out what this teaser is on that date.
There are numerous street level titles that it could be, but one high contender would be a book with Jessica Jones as the series recently wrapped when Brian Michael Bendis made the leap to DC Comics but at the time we were told it would continue with a woman writing the title. Purple is the color associated with Jessica in many cases because of the huge impact that the Purple Man had on her life in the comics and in her Netflix series.
Stay tuned for more information as Marvel reveals it.
