The Walking Dead & Fear The Walking Dead gain new posters ahead of SDCC

Questions remain in the air about many characters in both shows and the posters offer up some teasers of what's on the way.

While they are saving most of the goodies for Hall H at San Diego Comic Con, AMC has unleashed some teasers for the returns of The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead later this year.

In two weeks the zombie-filled shows will descend upon San Diego in two back-to-back panels moderated by Yvette Nicole Brown (taking the place of Chris Hardwick amidst the abuse allegations that have recently surfaced). There are tons of questions that remain around the parent series, The Walking Dead, namely around are stars Andrew Lincoln/Rick Grimes & Lauren Cohan/Maggie Rhee truly leaving (and how will they leave) among many others.

The teaser for season nine of the zombie series doesn’t answer those but it does give us some ideas on where the show might be going. In the image, Lincoln’s Rick has a shorter haircut and is even grayer in the beard as he stands alongside Michone (Danai Gurira), Darryl (Norman Reedus), Maggie (Cohan) and Carol (Melissa McBride) in front of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. which has seen better days. It’s already been confirmed that just like the comics, following the end of the war with Negan things are going to jump forward and the show will continue to play with time.

TWD Season Nine

The Walking Dead returns at some point in October, a first trailer is likely during SDCC.

Companion/spinoff series Fear The Walking Dead is on a mid-season break currently following a very tragic midseason finale, and it looks like things won’t’ be any easier for the Texas group of survivors once the show returns in August. As was seen in the teaser trailer following the finale, the key art has the caption “No calm after the storm” and shows the remaining survivors fighting again walkers as well as mother nature as a hurricane moves into the area.

FTWD Season 4-2

Fear The Walking Dead returns on August 12.

Both shows will have their SDCC panels on Friday, July 20, with FTWD going first at 11:15 a.m. PST followed by TWD at 12:15 p.m. PST.
