With just about a month till its release, the long bumpy road to make Disney & Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story a reality has reached the end. Post-production on the May 25 launching film has been finished.
Director Ron Howard announced as much through Twitter, following a tweet almost a month ago where he had indicated that he was on track locking down the final edit and the score had been completed. Now all the pieces have been put together and the film is ready for its debut next month.
Despite what some on the internet would believe, most films post-production and final edits go down to the wire before the release meaning that Solo is right on track. After the public firing of directors Chris Miller & Phil Lord last summer and the hiring of Howard along with news of massive reshoots, the film has been under a microscope.
Marketing for the film has been ramping up considerably the last few months, after getting off to a slow start because it’s coming out so soon after Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Directed by Howard, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Sutoamo, Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson. The film opens May 25.
