Earlier this year, The CW President Mark Pedowitz spoke about the growing number of superhero-related series the network is producing, revealing their new plan to never air more than four of the shows at once. This new rule took effect pretty much right away this year as shortly after it’s mid-season premiere Supergirl took a nine-week hiatus so that Black Lightning could premiere and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow could finish out its third season.
Now that season is over, and Supergirl is back.
Season three of the series resumes in its former Monday night 8 p.m. ET/PT on April 16, and to celebrate this the network released a brand new poster for the show’s return.
Alongside this new poster, there is now confirmation about when the show will wrap up its third season. While Legends has already finished with Black Lightning to follow in two weeks and Flash and Arrow set to bow in May, Kara and company will keep flying till June.
They will wrap their season on Monday, June 18, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Previously The CW gave season renewals to all but a couple of their current shows, meaning Supergirl is set to return for season four this fall.
