After a few seasons away, Arsenal is ready to return to the streets of Star City & to Team Arrow.

Another old face that hasn’t been gone all that long will be hanging around on a regular basis once Arrow enters season seven this fall. After appearing on a few recent episodes & then departing with Willa Holland’s Thea as the actress exited the series, Colton Haynes/Roy Harper is coming back.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Haynes is set to return as a series regular on the show once it enters season seven. Haynes debuted as Harper in the midpoint of Arrow‘s first season before becoming a series regular in season two and then departing in season three after taking the fall for Oliver Queen.

“We’re very fortunate and excited to welcome back Colton to Arrow,” the Arrow executive producers said in a statement. “While we’ve always enjoyed Colton’s returns to the show, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him return as a proper series regular and we’re very excited about all the creative opportunities Roy Harper’s return affords us.”

Recently he returned to the show, after a few guest spots in previous seasons, after Ricardo Diaz tried to torture him to use against Team Arrow. After being rescued by his ex-girlfriend Thea and team Arrow, the duo faced off against the League of Assassins in “The Thanatos Guild” episode which led to them departing with Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law) for a new adventure.

Apparently, at some point, Roy will depart from Thea and Nyssa to head back to Star City in season seven, set to work alongside Oliver and whoever is left of Team Arrow after this season ends.

“I could not be happier to return to my role as Roy Harper alongside my Arrow family,” Haynes said.

Haynes return to heroics was teased somewhat in the prior episode as he wore a costume that was very close to the New 52 Arsenal/Roy Harper costume which seems likely to make a return in season seven.

Arrow wraps up its sixth season in May.
