Bryan Hill & Miguel Mendonca take over Detective Comics beginning in June

The new creative team takes over as James Tynion IV brings his long run to an end this summer.

Detective Comics

After handling the adventures of Batman and his team of allies since the beginning of the Rebirth era, James Tynion IV is set to depart from Detective Comics with issue #891. Now the creative team that will replace him, and a special guest star along for the ride, has been named.

According to Den of GeekThe Wild Storm: Michael Cray writer Bryan Hill will join previous Detective Comics artist Miguel Mendonca for a five-part storyline, titled “On The Outside,” beginning with issue #892. Hill and Mendonca are bringing Jefferson Pierce, the electrifying hero known as Black Lightning, along for their arc in the Batman family series.

This isn’t the only time Hill is writing Pierce, as he’s teaming up with Denys Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz for a Black Lightning/Hong Kong Phooey Special this summer as well.

Check out the solicitations for the first two issues of the Detective arc below.
