After months of reports and rumors, the news has officially been confirmed about the actor that will bring Valiant Entertainment’s Bloodshot to life on the big screen.
According to Deadline, Sony Pictures and Vin Diesel have officially closed a deal that will see Diesel reunite with his Fast and the Furious producer Neal H. Moritz to star in Bloodshot, the adaptation of the Valiant comic book series. Diesel will play Ray Garrison, a man brought back from the dead by Rising Spirit Technologies through nanotechnology that causes memory loss that he struggles with as he becomes a weapon for the organization that resurrected him.
Bloodshot is one of Valiant’s central characters, and one of a handful of properties that the company has earmarked for adaptations. Previous reports stated that Sony was set to make two Bloodshot films and two Harbinger films before tying them all together for the crossover Harbinger Wars film.
Deadpool director Tim Miller’s longtime collaborator Dave Wilson is set to make his directorial debut with the film based on a script from Oscar-nominated Arrival writer & Valiant Secret Weapons writer Eric Heisserer.
Principal photography reportedly will begin in July.
