When word dropped that Laurence Fishburne had joined Marvel Studios for this summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, there was also talk about him producing something for Marvel that had him very excited. At last, there is finally some word on what that is.
According to Deadline, Fishburne and his fellow Black-Ish/Grown-Ish producer Helen Sugland are working with Marvel Animation and Disney Channels Worldwide to develop an animated Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur series.
This series follows the same story of the comic book of the same name that debuted in 2015, of the nine-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette whose Inhuman gene is awakened and ends up pairing her with the giant crimson dinosaur known as Devil Dinosaur. The duo’s presence has grown since their series debuted including a recent stint as part of the short-lived Inhumans focused Secret Warriors series.
Reportedly this is just one of the projects that Fishburne and Sugland are developing as part of a deal that Fishburne’s Cinema Gypsy Productions has with ABC Studios. Since the project is still in development there is no word on when it would air or even which of the Disney branded channels it might call home if it should get a green light.
