Tim Miller & Brian Michael Bendis reportedly developing Kitty Pryde film

The Deadpool director & longtime Marvel scribe are set to give the phasing X-Men her own film.

Kitty Pryde

Despite having recently just departed Marvel Comics after almost 20-years for a job handling Superman and other characters for DC Comics, Brian Michael Bendis isn’t quite done with characters from the House of Ideas.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bendis and Deadpool director Tim Miller are teaming up to develop a project known as 143 which is set in the X-Men Universe and reportedly is the rumored Kitty Pryde solo film. Bendis will write the script for the film while Miller will direct the film.

The 143 in the working title refers to Uncanny X-Men #143 which was the first time that Kitty had a solo adventure as she fought off a demon alone in the X-Mansion. Previously Ellen Page played the phasing mutant for 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and again in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past but there is no word on if she’ll reprise the role or more likely if it will be recast.

While Disney reached an agreement with Fox to buy up their movie and television studios, until the deal is actually completed, which will likely take many years, the studio is still chugging forward with movie plans. This year they have Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix with The New Mutants and potentially Gambit next year with plans to develop an X-Force film along with a possible James Franco led Multiple Man film and a likely third Deadpool film.
