SyFy’s demented & dark new series Happy! gets a second season order

Unhinged former cop Nick Sax & imaginary unicorn friend Happy are set for more adventures

Get ready for a lot more bizarre deviant bloody awesome fun because SyFy has officially announced that their new original series Happy!, which wraps up its first season this week, has been renewed for a second season.

Based on the comic book series of the same name from Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, Happy! follows unstable former cop Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) and the cartoonish imaginary friend singing dancing unicorn Happy (Patton Oswalt) who arrives to try and get Nick’s help to save the kidnapped daughter he never knew he had. It’s a dark, twisted and psychedelic series that has been a hit for SyFy since it debuted in December.

The first season has focused on the story from the comic, but since there was no second set of comics from Morrison and Robertson a second season could pretty much go any direction it likes to tell further adventures of Nick and Happy and those around them.

Happy! stars Meloni, Oswalt, Patrick Fischler as Smoothie, Medina Senghore as Amanda Hansen, Bryce Lorenzo as Hailey Hansen, Lili Mirojnick as Meredith “Merry” McCarthy, and Ritchie Coster as Leonardo Scaramucci/Mr. Blue.
