Fox’s The New Mutants gains its first poster

Continuing the horror theme that was set with the first teaser trailer, Fox’s The New Mutants has released their first poster. In the poster, shared through Twitter, the faces of all five of the main young mutants are shown trying to push through a white barrier or wall.

An interesting bit of the poster is the featured fangs on the face in the bottom corner, giving the first sort of glimpse of Maise William’s Rahne in her transitional wolf form from the comics.

The New Mutants

Based upon the early run of the comic series from Chris Claremont, Bob McLeod, and Bill Sienkiewicz, New Mutants is said to feature five mutant teens that are learning to deal with their superpowers and must escape from the secret facility where they are being held against their will. The nightmare creature known as the Demon Bear, who appeared in many of those early New Mutants issues, is said to be one of the main antagonists within the film.

Boone previously described the spinoff as a horror film, with no supervillains or superhero costumes.

Opening on April 13, 2018, New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin/Magik, Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage and Alice Braga as Doctor Cecilia Reyes.
