Warner Bros. upcoming Titans series has found it’s latest team member. Ryan Potter, who voiced Hiro Hamada in 2014’s Big Hero 6, has officially been cast in the role of Garfield Logan/Beast Boy for the digital streaming service, according to Deadline.
As a child, Potter’s Garfield “Gar” Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects. Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.
Potter’s Beast Boy joins the main portion of the Titans team which features Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), Starfire (Anna Diop) and Raven (Teagan Croft). Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly are also slated for recurring roles, with the possibility of becoming regulars & gaining a spinoff series, as Hawk and Dove respectively.
The series follows Grayson as he emerges from the shadows, after serving as Batman’s sidekick for years, and begins to bring together a team of powered youths for a brand new super team.
Titans is set to be one of the anchor shows, alongside the returning Young Justice, for Warner Bros. new unnamed digital streaming service in 2018.
