As part of their giant 25th anniversary celebration, the Power Rangers are going to a whole new place: Twitch. Saban Brands & Hyper RPG have officially announced the upcoming launch of Power Rangers Hyperforce a live-streamed table-top role playing game on Twitch set in the world of Power Rangers.
Premiering October 24 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM PT on Hyper RPG’s Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/hyperrpg), the new series will air 25 episodes, one for each year of the anniversary celebration, weekly. Power Rangers Hyperforce is set in the year 3016 and features a team of Time Force Ranger cadets at the Time Force Academy who come together under the leadership of Time Force Ranger Jen Scott to try and defeat an ancient evil. Hyper RPG’s Malika Lim will take on the role of Game Master for the series to help guide and hinder the new rangers on their journey through time and space.
This new team of Rangers includes some faces familiar to fans. Power Rangers Hyperforce‘s cast includes Peter Sudarso the Blue Ranger from Power Rangers Ninja Steel, Andre “Black Nerd Comedy,” Meghan Camarena, Cristina Vee and Paulie Schrier who of course was Bulk across many seasons of the series. Guest stars will appear as well including Erin Cahill as Jen Scott in the premiere.
Audience interaction is an important facet of Hyper RPG’s business model on Twitch, giving the audience ways to influence and interact with the games rather than just be viewers, and that will continue with the Power Rangers. Through a Twitch Extension developed by Hyper RPG, viewers will get to select a ranger that will be tied to the users unite ID and they can send their Ranger out on missions, boss battles, raids and even trade loot with others.
Power Rangers Hyperforce launches on October 24.
