Ahead of it’s October debut, Fox & Marvel are whetting fans appetites just a tiny bit as they have released the first six minutes of the upcoming X-Men adjacent series The Gifted. While a family is the main center of the series, the first episode kicks off with action as Clarice Fong/Blink (Jamie Chung) is on the run from the police but is found by mutant underground members Marcos Diaz/Eclipse (Sean Teale), John Proudstar/Thunderbird (Blair Redford) and Lorna Dane/Polaris (Emma Dumont) who are there to rescue her.
Their rescue doesn’t exactly go as planned.
Action-adventure family drama THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
The series also stars Stephen Moyer as Reed Strucker, Amy Acker as Caitlin Strucker, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Strucker, Percy Hynes White as Andy Strucker, and Coby Bell as Jace Turner. Burn Notice creator Matt Nix is the showrunner & wrote the pilog episode which was directed by X-Men director Brian Singer.
The series is a co-production of Fox and Marvel just like FX’s Legion earlier this year.
The Gifted debuts on October 2.
