With production set to start sometime soon, Sony Pictures stand alone Venom film might have found someone to star opposite Tom Hardy. According to Variety, Manchester by the Sea star Michelle Williams is reportedly in talks for a role in the film.
Reportedly Williams character would be a district attorney that could possibly be a love interest for Hardy’s Eddie Brock.
The Ruben Fleischer directed film is set to kick off a new shared universe of films for Sony using the Marvel Spider-Man related characters, but will not feature Spider-Man himself at this point. That of course is because of the current deal between Marvel Studios and Sony that has placed Spider-Man smack dab in the middle of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the time being.
Riz Ahmed (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is also reportedly a part of the film in some undisclosed role that could be friend or foe to the symbiote wearing anti-hero.
Hardy’s Venom film will be followed by the Black Cat & Silver Sable featuring Silver and Black in this new Sony’s Marvel Universe set of films.
Venom arrives on October 5, 2018.
