A hero from the future of the DC Universe is about to enter Supergirl’s life when her series returns for season three next month. According to Variety, model & Bollywood actress Amy Jackson has been cast in the role of Legion of Superhero’s member Saturn Girl.
Jackson’s Saturn Girl, real name Imra Ardeen, is described as “a kind, strong-willed hero who uses her telekinetic powers to help those in need. She was born on Titan, one of Saturn’s moons, and arrives on Earth just in time to help Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) face one of her biggest threats.”
That big threat is more than likely reference to Reign, played by Odette Annable, the new big villain of the season.
While her coming from Saturn’s moon is confirmed there is nothing said yet if the character will still be from the 30th/31st century or if she’ll be an adapted version from the modern age. Saturn Girl debuted as one of the founding members of the Legion in 1958’s Adventure Comics #247, and has been one of the stalwart members in various incarnations over the years.
Previously the character made her live-action debut played by Alexz Johnson during the eighth season of Smallville.
Supergirl returns on October 09.
