A former Avenger joins the ranks of the Guardians of the Galaxy this fall

ALL_NEW_GOTG_CVR_12 FEaturedEven though their adventures recently have kept them occupied deep in space the Guardians of the Galaxy are about to bring another piece of Earth along for the ride that isn’t Star Lord or his music collection of greatest hits.

Ahead of the arrival of All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #12, Marvel Comics has announced that a brand new teammember will join the crew and the character happens to be a former Avenger. One of the five characters looming above the standard Guardians characters in the provided image will join the team or possibly more.

“We’re excited to have an Avenger joining the ranks of the Guardians…or is it the Nova Corps? Or both? Oh, you’ll see,” editor Jordan D. White said. “Just know, he beat out some stiff competition, as you can tell by that cover of issue #12!”

If you’re only counting four characters, Cable, Deadpool, Man-Thing and Doctor Strange than take a much closer look at the shoulder of Man-Thing to find the last former Avenger that could be joining the crew. The silhouette there is for Scott Lang, the Astonishing Ant-Man.

This new addition to the crew will be joining just in time for the upcoming “The Infinity Quest” storyline that marks the titles change back to Guardians of the Galaxy as it’s official title as it enters Marvel Legacy. The crew of the Milano will have to team-up with this former Avenger and the Nova Corps members that have been after them in order to save the universe.

All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #12 arrives on October 18.
