After spending quite a few seasons years ago as the aquatic hero Aquaman on Smallville, Alan Ritchson is ready to dive back into the world of DC Comics superheroes. Ritchson has landed the role of Hank Hall the hero known as Hawk for Warner Bros. Titans series that will debut with their brand new streaming platform in 2018, according to Deadline.
Hawk is just one part of a superhero duo, with his partner Dove and based upon the description from Deadline about the duo being vigilantes and a romantic duo it looks certain that the series is going with the more modern Dawn Granger version of Dove rather than the old school version of Don Hall who is Hank’s brother.
Reportedly the role is recurring in season one with the option to become a regular in season two with producers already exploring the chance for a Hawk and Dove spinoff series in the future if things go well.
Ritchson joins a cast that already features Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson the former sidekick of Batman that comes out of the shadows to gather together a team of heroes that includes Anna Diop as Starfire and Teagan Croft as Raven. Other unnamed characters are expected to be part of the team as well.
Titans will feature alongside the return of the animated Young Justice series as the anchors for the 2018 launching unnamed Warner Bros. streaming platform.
