Doomsday Clock’s lenticular motion cover brings Rorschach into the event

Doomsday Clock Rorschach Cover Featured

This fall Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s twelve-part Doomsday Clock series is set to bring the worlds of the DC Universe and the Watchmen Universe together, and answer all the questions that have been raised since the New 52 reboot and last year’s DC Rebirth revamp.

The previously released covers for the event’s first issue featured Watchmen character Doctor Manhattan, who has already been revealed as the powerful being behind the reboot and stealing of years of the heroes lives, and now the latest variant cover for the issue showcases another character from that world: Rorschach.

Dave Gibbons’ art from the original Watchmen series, that he worked on alongside Alan Moore, has been repurposed as a lenticular motion cover where the ink blots on Rorschach’s face shift into the logos of the DC Universe’s trinity of heroes. Johns shared the artwork through Twitter.
