Sony Pictures Spider-Man related universe of films that will not be connected to their Spider-Man films with Marvel and likely won’t feature Spider-Man are starting to come together more.
While the Venom film starring Tom Hardy, which kicks off Sony’s Marvel Universe, already has a October 2018 release date, the Black Cat & Silver Sable film didn’t have one. Until now.
The Gina Prince-Bythewood directed Silver and Black has been set for a February 8, 2019 date by Sony, according to Variety. Prince-Bythewood will also be rewrite the script that was penned by Thor: Ragnarok and other Marvel films writer Chris Yost which replaced an earlier draft by Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy.
Both Silver Sable/Silver Sablinova, a mercenary and leader of the country Skymarkia, & Black Cat/Felicia Hardy, a thief with bad luck causing powers, have been antagonists and allies to Spider-Man over the years, with Black Cat even having a long-term relationship with Spidey/Peter Parker in the past. Felicia was previously cut from scripts in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy of films and had a minor part in 2014’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 played by Felicity Jones.
There is still no word on any potential casting for either part.
