Each year the scope of The CW’s Arrowverse crossovers continues to grow and that’s no different for the upcoming fourth annual crossover. The network announced the dates and lineup for the four-part event during the Television Critics Association press tour, according to Deadline.
While last year the event was technically spread across four nights, as Supergirl’s episode was only connected by a short epilogue, this year it will only be across two nights. It will kick off on Monday November 2 with Supergirl followed by Arrow, with the series moving from it’s Thursday night home for one week, and will conclude on Tuesday November 2 with The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
“Last year’s (crossover) was the most successful week in CW history in terms of ratings and everything,” The CW president Mark Pedowitz said. “We felt in this particular case we had Flash on Legends paired, so it was better to make it two two-hour movies – a miniseries – we thought this was the best way to go. We had a lot of conversations with producers and marketing people. Next year, we might go back to four nights.”
These crossovers began back in 2014 with the two night Flash vs. Arrow/The Brave and the Bold crossover between Arrow & The Flash. In 2015 the two shows crossed over again with Legends of Today/Legends of Yesterday which led to the birth of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow before in 2016 all four of the shows team-up to deal with aliens in the aptly named Invasion! event.
Currently there is no word on what this crossover will entail, but that sort of thing likely won’t be made clear till the new seasons of the shows actually begin in October. To avoid potential spoilers.
Supergirl returns on October 09, The Flash & Legends on October 10 and Arrow on October 12.
