Marvel Studios has kicked off their San Diego Comic Con Hall H panel, and this year they started by dropping a big casting bombshell. During a look back at the Marvel Cinematic Universe as told by Paul Rudd and Michael Pena, it was revealed that they were telling this story to Michelle Pfeiffer.
It was then revealed that Pfeiffer will be playing the role of Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp who went missing years ago, for 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Vice President & Executive Editor of Digital Media Ryan Penagos tweeted out the reveal.
Pfeiffer joins Rudd, Pena, Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas, and Randall Park. It was also announced that Walton Goggins will play Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen will play Ghost and Laurence Fishburne will take on the role of Doctor Bill Foster/Goliath.
Ant-Man and the Wasp opens on July 6, 2018.
