Much about Ant-Man and the Wasp, the sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man, is still a mystery but with production underway the cast is starting to come together.
According to The Tracking Board, Fresh off the Boat actor Randall Park has been cast in the film to take on the role of James “Jimmy” Woo. Originally Woo was a character that was created by Al Feldstein and Joe Maneely for 1956’s Yellow Claw #1 but in the 2000s the characters was revived as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent that was one of the main characters of Jeff Parker & Leonard Kirk’s Agents of Atlas series.
How Woo will fit into the film is still unclear since the plot is being kept under wraps for the time being, but with Hank Pym’s noted ties to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the first film and what has happened to Scott Lang since that film, in Captain America: Civil War, there are easy ways to bring the agent into the story.
Park will join the returning Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Evangeline Lily (Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) and Michael Peña (Luis). Ant-Man and the Wasp is being directed by Peyton Reed, who directed the first, and was co-written by Rudd and Gabriel Ferrari.
The film is set to release on July 6, 2018.
