After giving fans a tiny taste back on April Fool’s day, co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon are ready to give fans exactly what they want. That’s right, the long awaited third season of Rick and Morty finally has a trailer and a release date.
Things get crazy, which pretty much defines the show overall, in the new trailer where Rick declares this season the darkest year of adventures for the grandfather and grandson duo and their family which begin on July 30.
Fans of the off-the-wall series full of zany adventures and biting social commentary, have been waiting since October 2015, when season two wrapped, for new episodes.
Season two ended with Rick turning himself into the authorities, seemingly to spare his family, and going to prison. The surprise April Fool’s day stream, the third season’s first episode “The Rickshank Redemption,” picked up after that cliffhanger to set the tone for the new season.
Rick and Morty airs as part of Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block.
