After not making the cut for a small scene in X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men’s resident disco loving light powered mutant Dazzler is getting a second chance.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the mutant pop star Allison Blaire/Dazzler will reportedly make a small appearance of some kind in the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
Dazzler originally appeared on the cover of one of her albums during a scene set in the mall with Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner). The scene was ultimately cut from the film but Turner shared an image of it on Instagram before the film came out.
Her using of 1989 in the caption sparked speculation that Taylor Swift would be playing the part of Dazzler, but that was later debunked and there is no indication that it will become reality this time around either.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be directed by Simon Kinberg and stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Turner, Sheridan and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Reportedly Jessica Chastain is in talks to play the film’s antagonist Empress Lilandra.
The seventh main X-Men film is set for a November 2, 2018 release.
