The wait for Disney XD’s DuckTales reboot is almost over.
Revealed today alongside the debut of the new intro for the series, featuring an updated version of the iconic theme song, the new DuckTales will debut on August 12 with an one-hour television movie that will run for 24 consecutive hours beginning at Midnight on that day. The series will fully debut with two brand new episodes beginning on September 23 that will run various times in the day and also be available on the Disney XD app or Disney XD VOD.
Based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, Disney XD’s animated comedy-adventure series “DuckTales” chronicles the high-flying adventures of Duckburg’s most famous trillionaire Scrooge McDuck, his mischief-making triplet grandnephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, temperamental nephew Donald Duck and the trusted McDuck Manor team: big-hearted, fearless chauffer/pilot Launchpad McQuack, no-nonsense housekeeper Mrs. Beakley and Mrs. Beakley’s granddaughter, Webby Vanderquack, resident adventurer and the triplet’s newfound fierce friend.
If the revamped intro & release date aren’t enough to get a smile on your face, the network also revealed the release date an intro at the end of a Fackebook live video full of real life adorable ducklings.
The reboot cast includes David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck, Danny Pudi as Huey, Ben Schwartz as Dewey, Bobby Moynihan as Louie, Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, Paul F. Tompkins as Gladstone Gander, Jim Rash as Gyro Gearloose, Allison Janney as Goldie O’Glit, Eric Bauza as the Beagle Boys, Margo Martindale as Ma Beagle, Keith Ferguson as Flintheart Glomgold, Josh Brener as Mark Beaks, and Lin-Manual Miranda as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera/Gizmoduck.
