The first Black Panther poster arrives ahead of the film’s first teaser trailer

Spider-Man & Thor might be the talk of the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year, but next year is Black Panther’s time to grab the spotlight once more. With filming over with, Marvel has now began to roll out the promotional materials for the Chadwick Boseman starring film.

Boseman is front and center in the first poster for the film, which arrives ahead of the first teaser trailer for the film which is set to debut during game four of the NBA Finals on ABC tonight.

Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed), Black Panther stars Boseman, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Kilmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Forest Whitaker as Zuri, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Freeman as Everett Ross, Serkis as Klaw, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Winston Duke as M’Baku/Man-Ape, Sterling K. Brown as N’Jobu, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, Letitia Wright in an unknown role, and John Kani as King T’Chaka.

The film opens Feburary 16, 2018.
