Oscar Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino knows the right buttons to push to get Spider-Man fans rolling around in excitement. Currently in the middle of recording the score for Sony Pictures & Marvel Studio’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Giacchino took to Twitter to share an almost 40-second snippet of the orchestra performing a very familiar song.
Yes, that is indeed the famous theme song from the 1960’s Spider-Man cartoon series. Go ahead and put it on repeat a few times.
There is no indication if the song will show up in the film though, as different versions of the song have appeared in some of the previous Spider-Man films from Sony but usually only in the credits.
If Marvel & Sony were to actually use this in the film at the appropriate point as a theme song for Spider-Man, it would make a lot of fans very happy. It would also help out sate some of the critics that claim that the music from the previous Marvel Studios films is not distinct enough, isn’t something memorable.
Spider-Man: Homecoming opens on July 7.
