While Samuel L. Jackson may never get his wish to see Mace Windu ever appear again on the big screen, the Jedi Master is getting his own comic.
Announced by StarWars.com, Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu will be the latest miniseries focused on the prequel series era out of Marvel Comics Star Wars line. Written by Matt Owens with art by Denys Cowan, the five issue series will focus on the fan-favorite purple lightsaber wielding Jedi during the height of the Clone Wars.
For over a thousand generations, the Jedi have been the peacekeepers of the galaxy…but now, at the dawn of the Clone Wars, they find themselves in a new role: generals in the Army of the Republic. As Mace Windu, one of the Jedi’s greatest warriors, leads a small unit of Jedi into battle shortly after the war begins, the Jedi must make peace with their new role, or be lost to the violence around them!
Jesus Saiz will provide covers for the series, along with variants by Rahzzah and Javier Rodriguez and a special Star Wars 40th Anniversary variant by Russell Dauterman.
Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu arrives in August.
