Things won’t be getting quieter in Gotham City anytime soon.
Currently in the last arc of it’s third season, Fox’s pre-Batman series Gotahm will have at least another year to tell crazy stories leading up to the Dark Knight’s debut as the series is officially renewed for a fourth season, according to Variety.
Centered around Detective Jim Gordon, destined to one day be the Commissioner of police working alongside Batman, the series has grown from being a ‘freak of the week’ style police procedural to it’s own full alternate take on the journey to Batman. Villains from Mr. Freeze to Riddler to Penguin, Poison Ivy and even a maybe he is maybe he isn’t style Joker have made their mark on the show.
While Gotham has seemed to do well enough with Fox to continue being part of their offerings, it has proven to be quite the divisive show amongst fans. It’s not hard to find online those who dislike the show because it chooses a path different from the DC Comics its based upon and those that have embraced the differences and the insanity of the show.
Gotham stars Ben McKenzie, David Mazouz, Robin Lord Taylor, Cory Michael Smith, Morena Baccarin, Donal Logue, Sean Pertwee, Erin Richards, Camren Bicondova, Jessica Lucas, Chris Chalk, Drew Powell, Maggie Geha, Benedict Samuel and Michael Chiklis.
Season four of the series will roll out for the 2017-2018 season.
