Deathstroke targets the Titans & Teen Titans this May for the Lazarus Contract

The state of the DC Comics Universe has been somewhat in flux since they kicked off DC Rebirth last year as a way to bring back the legacy of the DC characters and streamline the histories of the characters and teams. To celebrate a year of DC Rebirth the company will now be tackling the questions surrounding the history of the Teen Titans/Titans and their long-time foe Deathstroke.

As revealed by Comics Alliance, this May a four part crossover called The Lazarus Contract will finally bring light to Deathstroke’s relationship to the Titans and Teen Titans in this New 52 turned into DC Rebirth version of the long-running universe. The story will cross through issues of Titans, Teen Titans and Deathstroke as well as a Teen Titans annual as Slade Wilson targets the returned Wally West as part of a quest to ressurect his son Grant, the original Ravager.

The regular writers of the books Dan Abnett, Benjamin Percy and Christopher Priest will handle the various parts of the crossover with art from Brett Booth, Khoi Pham, Carlo Pagulayan and Paul Pelletier.

Lazarus Contract is of course a purposeful reference to the famous Judas Contract storyline from Marv Wolfman and George Perez that focused on Deathstroke trying to destroy the Teen Titans from within. It’s possible that bits of that old story might find a way to be re-incorporated into this rebooted universe which at it’s beginning scrubbed all the history of the Titans until DC Rebirth began to bring the characters and team back to prevalence.

The crossover goes through Titans 11, Teen Titans 8, Deathstroke 19 and Teen Titans Annual 01. Check out the covers and solicits for the issues below.
