Genndy Tartakovsky’s return to Samurai Jack is just over a month away from premiering on Cartoon Network and the network has premiered a new trailer to get fans ready.
It’s been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity.
Originally airing on Cartoon Network in 2001, Samurai Jack aired for four seasons and followed the time displaced samurai on a quest to defeat the shape-shifting demon Aku who had destroyed his father’s kingdom. The series was cancelled in 2004 after winning four Emmy Awards.
For the new ten-episode fifth season the series is moving from Cartoon Network proper to the more adult oriented Adult Swim block of shows.
Samurai Jack returns on Saturday, March 11.
