A dark magic is spreading through the world and the only one the Justice League can turn to is John Constantine & other magical individuals in the first trailer for Justice League Dark, shared by IGN.
With the Justice League at a loss at how to deal with the visions and nightmares and demons that the world is facing, Batman heads out to gather the likes of Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing, Etrigan the Demon and others.
One interesting note in the trailer is that following the release of The Killing Joke earlier this year, Warner Bros. Animation is diving back into the R-Rating pool with this film with the rating said to be due to “some disturbing violence.”
The film is based upon the Justice League Dark series that launched during DC Comics New 52 reboot in 2011 with a team roster of Constantine, Zatanna, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Enchantress, and Shade the Changing Man.
Justice League Dark stars Jason O’Mara as Batman, the return of Matt Ryan as John Constantine (Ryan played the character in the short lived live-action Constantine series), Nicholas Turturro as Deadman, Camilla Luddington as Zatanna, Ray Chase as Etrigan, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Jeremy Davies as Ritchie, Enrico Colantoni as Felix Faust, Alfred Molina as Destiny and Roger R. Cross as Swamp Thing & John Stewart Green Lantern.
The film is expected on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital in early 2017.
