Pokémon heads to YouTube for brand new animated series Pokémon Generations

The Pokémon Company’s 20th Anniversary celebration is continuing in a big way as the company has officially announced that they’ll be launching a second animated series this month called Pokémon Generations.

Unlike the current long-running animated series that follows the adventures of Ash and his partner Pokémon Pikachu, the new series “revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments.” This includes everything from the battle between Red and Blue in the original games to Lance’s Dragonite battling the Red Gyrados various and other moments from the generations of Gameboy and Nintendo DS games.

The series will be composed of animated shorts that range from around 3 to five minutes long that will be released weekly from September 16 to December 23 through the Pokémon Generations playlist on the official Pokémon YouTube channel.
